Jacobo will start by hosting a final day of service at his haute cuisine fine dining restaurant, Anhelo, in Downtown on November 23. The restaurateur will host a final tasting menu featuring the chef’s favorite courses over the years before it exits its space on the ground floor of the Orpheum Lofts, according to Phoenix New Times. Once Anhelo closes at the end of this month, Jacobo plans to move the concept to a new location in Old Town Scottsdale at 7007 E. First Avenue, opening on February 14, 2025.

When Anhelo opens early next year, customers can expect more space, giving Jacobo even more room to pursue his fine-dining dreams. Unlike the original location in Downtown Phoenix, the Scottsdale site will feature plenty of parking and an expansive patio. Customers can still expect the same white tablecloth elegance and an award-winning wine list featured at the concept’s new location.

“Fine dining is an experience that should start at the moment you walk in the door,” Jacobo tells Phoenix New Times. “Here, it felt like I had the opportunity to take Anhelo to the next level, where we create an experience that begins when you walk toward the restaurant. I have an opportunity to create a dream restaurant that any chef would die for.”

With Anhelo exiting the space at Orpheum Lofts, the chef and restaurant owner saw an opportunity to open Flour & Thyme in Anhelo’s space, offering a tasting menu and a la carte dishes. This is a massive accomplishment for Jacobo, considering he hoped to open a more relaxed version of Anhelo’s sister restaurant earlier this year in Tempe, but plans fell through. He will now open Flour & Thyme in Anhelo’s current home in Downtown Phoenix at 114 W. Adams Street, C103, on December 6, 2024.
