Yesterday, May 23, RED Development, the real estate firm behind Paradise Valley Mall’s extensive renovation dubbed PV, announced that Tucson-based gelateria Frost would be opening its fifth Valley location at the lifestyle hub sometime next year.
“We are thrilled to be joining the [PV] project,” co-founder Jeff Kaiserman tells What Now Pheonix. “It will be ‘the place to be’ and it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to expand our concept. We are most excited about bring Frost to the Paradise Valley Community!”
The Tucson-based company imports most of its raw ingredients from Italy while producing all of its gelato and sorbet on-site, fresh daily under the direction of Nazario Melchionda, an award-winning master gelato chef hailing from Bologna, Italy.
Its menu features some 50 flavors both classic and wholly unique, such as Hazelnut, Chocolate, Saffron Rose, Toasted Marshmallow, Honey Lavender, Marble Black Cherry, and Cappuccino, as well as a rotating cast of monthly creations which this month includes Margarita, Mango Chili, Spicy Chocolate, and White Chocolate Macadamia Nut.
What’s more, Frost also whips up 25 types of refreshing sorbet like the Blackberry Cabernet, Kiwi, Passion Fruit, Pear Riesling, Tangelo, and Strawberry & Champagne.
Frost Gelato will join five other tenants that recently signed on to the PV development, including two concepts from Sam Fox, Flower Child and Blanco Cocina + Cantina, as well as Sephora, full-service salon Aveda, and local brewery Wren House.
In a statement, Mike Ebert, managing partner at RED said, “PV is not just about revitalizing the former Paradise Valley Mall, but creating a new destination that can be the core of the community. Welcoming best-in-class tenants like Sam Fox’s Blanco and Flower Child, Sephora and Aveda along with local favorites Wren House Brewing and Frost Gelato brings us a step closer to shaping the space we envisioned that fundamentally fosters a sense of belonging and pride in the neighborhood.”
Councilwoman Debra Stark echoed the sentiment, saying, “The progress being made at PV is phenomenal and the upcoming phase one opening represents a significant milestone for Phoenix. This project will undoubtedly leave a positive impact on our local economy. PV is truly a testament to the strength and resiliency of our community, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth and prosperity it will bring.”
