The Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission recently approved the company to open the “Barro’s Retail Shops” across the street from an existing Barro’s location, first reported by the Phoenix Business Journal. B&B Pizza McCartney LLC, which is owned by Barro’s owner Bruce Barro, proposed building an 8,331 square foot, multitenant building for a restaurant and retail space to be located on a 1.41-acre parcel, according to documents filed with the city of Casa Grande.

“As the Retail Shops takes shape, it promises to become not only a hub of commerce but also a gathering place where residents and visitors alike can come together to shop, dine, and connect in the heart of Casa Grande’s thriving community,” Barro’s wrote in its development narrative that was submitted to the city.

The new Barro’s Pizza location will be 5,513 square feet with an 882-square-foot patio, according to a site plan submitted to the city. There’s no timeline for this opening or whether or not the company will close the other location across the street at 2820 N Pinal Ave #1 in the Villago Marketplace, which has been operating in that space since 2012. There’s another Barro’s Pizza in Casa Grande that replaced Mimi’s Cafe at 839 N. Promenade Parkway. When the new location opens, likely next year, customers can expect the same delicious pizza found throughout Arizona.

“At Barro’s Pizza, our pizza can only be described as a combination of thick and fluffy crust, paired with a perfected tangy and sweet, spiced sauce—the Barro family secret,” according to the company’s website. “Add generous amounts of the highest quality mozzarella for the flawless trifecta of pizza ingredients. The Barro’s Pizza family recipe goes back to when Grandma Angelina Barro was making pizza and pasta in her own home back in Italy. Her recipes were passed down through the generations and are now used in the family business today.”
