Birdcall, the eatery from Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood that serves up 100% all-natural chicken is coming to AZ, with two locations opening later this summer. One will open in Phoenix on N 7th Ave, near St. Joseph’s Hospital. The other, a Scottsdale location, will open on E Shea Blvd., adjacent to the Shea Scottsdale Center.

Birdcall’s goal, when it first opened the doors at its flagship restaurant in Denver in 2016, was to make delicious food accessible and affordable. According to their website, “it’s as much about the nutrient-rich salads as it is the crispy chicken sandwiches.”

The eatery’s chicken is sourced directly from Colorado family farms, and their bread comes from a Colorado baking company. Even their spices are sourced from a Denver firm. You can find a list of Birdcall’s local partners on their website. Birdcall is also trying its hand at zero-waste. They’ve recently partnered with Ball Corporation to bring their patrons the recyclable Ball Aluminum Cup™, which has reduced the company’s reliance on single-use plastics.

But back to that all-natural chicken. Birdcall’s menu offers chicken sandwiches from the ‘Nashville Hot’ to the ‘Southern’ and ‘Rancher.’ Their veggie option comes with crispy tofu and a peanutslaw, but you can swap out any chicken for crispy tofu as you see fit. They serve up an array of salads, sides, and ‘strips n’ nuggets’ as well.

We were unable to confirm an opening timeline with the owner at the time of publication. The eatery’s website indicates Scottsdale will be open sometime this fall. Expect to grab some extra-crispy chicken in Phoenix by winter 2021.
