A building permit found in city public records indicates upcoming tenant improvements to the 1,136-square foot space, which includes new cabinetry, finishes and upgrades to electrical and plumbing. Given that the space was already a coffee shop, there will be no real structural or mechanical changes needed.

Cartel Roasting Co. was founded in 2008 by Jason and Amy Silberschlag, who sought to create a community for people who simply enjoy coffee. Their small-scale roastery took off from its beginnings in Tempe, but even though the company now has a multi-state reach, they continue to source, roast, and brew everything themselves.

Their stellar beverage menu includes exclusive concoctions such as the Iconic Tonic, Espresso Mojito, Cold Brew Margarita, as well as a variety of other traditional espresso, coffee and tea offerings. Cartel also offers a coffee subscription service for those who need their beans in their daily routine.
