Previously, What Now Phoenix reported that RE/MAX’s founder Dave Liniger would be opening a new location in Scottsdale at 11107 N. Scottsdale Road, moving into the former home of Macayo’s. The company recently announced the first Valley restaurant will open on May 18. At the same time, it was announced Liniger’s Area 15 Ventures had obtained full ownership of the company. Daddy’s Chicken Shack will continue to sell and develop franchise locations, with 160 franchise locations planned to open by 2024.

Liniger will remain the regional franchise owner for Maricopa County, with ten total locations slated to open in the next year or so, a company spokesperson tells Chicago Business Journal. The Phoenix expansion of the brand will “focus on the eastern part of the region, including Scottsdale.” The businessman will also open 10 locations in Denver, with the first set to open in July. Liniger lives in Colorado but spends a lot of time in Arizona.

“I love this concept and am grateful to Pace and Chris for providing the groundwork to take this brand to the next level,” Liniger said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to acquire full ownership, and we’re excited to move forward with our development goals.”

Daddy’s Chicken Shack was founded in 2018 by Pace Webb and Chris Georgalas. The company will make some changes to its leadership team amongst this announcement. Liniger will transition to board chairman, while Liniger’s son, Dave Liniger Jr., will serve as brand president, according to QSR Magazine. On the other end, Webb will step down as CEO.

“We are thrilled with the outcome of this partnership, and I am personally ecstatic to be taking on a new role with Daddy’s Chicken Shack,” Liniger Jr. said in a statement. “Pace and Chris cultivated a stellar business model with amazing menu items, and we’re incredibly grateful for the close relationship we’ve formed with them over this last year. I have every confidence that their next endeavor will make waves in the restaurant industry and look forward to seeing our continued success as we work to scale Daddy’s Chicken Shack to its fullest potential.”
