According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Mattel Adventure Park will take up nine acres and 161,000 square feet of space, a stone’s throw from another sprawling Glendale development that’s currently under construction, VAI Resort, effectively turning the region into a veritable tourist mecca that’s sure to draw plenty of visitors when both open later next year.

To date, the only information surrounding Mattel Adventure Park’s food and beverage program is the Barbie Beach House, which includes a rooftop restaurant “where guests can choose from a selection of signature pink beverages, sweet and savory snacks, and experience panoramic views,” according to the Business Journal.

A representative of Mattel Adventure Park did not return a request for comment.

Other attractions include a Master of the Universe-themed laser tag arena, Thomas & Friends train ride, Hot Wheels roller coaster, mini-golf course, and go-karts, as well as “stunningly themed party zones [that] set the stage for the ultimate Barbie, Hot Wheels, or Thomas & Friends birthday party experience,” according to the park’s official website.

Given the reality of Arizona’s brutal summers, the park also boasts a “unique indoor/outdoor design [that] keeps your family cool and comfortable on even the hottest Arizona day with acres of air-conditioned space for your enjoyment.”

In a statement, Epic Resort Destinations’ president, Mark Cornell said that after meetings with Mattel, the two companies “decided this was something that could be created in a full structured environment that could truly meet the needs of families with young kids all the way to singles and adults,” the Business Journal reports.
