The company’s second location is set to move into the former home of Mr. Zeke’s Restaurant, which recently announced its closure. Owner David Najor tells What Now Phoenix that he hopes to open this location in January 2025, offering a variety of delicious comfort foods that aren’t often found in Phoenix, such as Detroit-style coneys, Better Made chips, Faygo soda, and more. The new Gilbert site will likely not initially serve Detroit-style pizza, but the company hopes to add it to the menu.
This is a massive accomplishment for Najor and his company, considering that, at one point, it had four locations throughout the Valley. Unfortunately, those locations closed last fall, leaving only one remaining site at 6953 Hayden Road in Scottsdale. Now, the company is slowly growing again, opening near the northeast corner of McQueen and Warner roads. Hopefully, the company can reclaim its title as one of the best hamburger places in the United States, an award it received in 2016.
“Detroit Coney Grill takes pride in being the best hamburger restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ,” according to the company’s website. “Our mouthwatering burgers are crafted with love and made with only the finest ingredients, all prepared in-house.
