This will bring Dutch Bros’ Gilbert footprint to five, however, it’s also just one of what is supposed to be “at least” 150 new locations through 2023, culminating in a whopping 800 stores across the country, according to an article published Monday, Nov 14, by industry media outlet Chain Storage.
Dutch Bros, which went public in Sep 2021, “[expects] to cap off our first full year as a public company by reaching our 2022 development target of at least 130 new shops,” Chain Storage quotes president and CEO John Ricci as saying.
Founded in 1992 as a humble coffee cart by brothers Dane and Travis Boersma, Dutch Bros prides itself on putting customers and community at the heart of everything it does, writing on its website, “We may sell coffee, but we’re in the relationship business. Whether we’re slinging drinks or serving up smiles, Dutch Bros is all about you!”
Some three decades later, it’s evident that the business model is working, as earlier this year Reuters reported that Dutch Bros was the “fastest-growing major U.S. branded chain.”
