“Not what we expected when going on in Scottsdale,” writes one Yelper of Boondocks Patio and Grill, “We were blown away by our experience on the patio.” Now, that experience, conjured by co-owners and brothers Jake and Luke Kory and complete with AZ draft beer, climate controlled patio, and patio games, is headed to Tempe.

Jake Kory confirmed Boondocks expansion to Tempe’s E Broadway Road, saying as ASU grads, he and his brother “lived in Tempe for quite a long time and always loved the area.”

After a long search for a new property, everything has finally come together. “We think our neighborhood bar and grill concept that works in Scottsdale will work there as well,” Kory added.

But back to the patio. Not only can you chill on a climate controlled patio (one of the biggest in Scottsdale), Boondocks has bar games like darts, pool, bag toss, ping pong, and more are available to meet all your drunken activity needs. There’s live music, and most importantly, $5 happy hour draft beer and house wine.

Kory says the Tempe location won’t have quite as much patio space to work with as Scottsdale, but Boondocks’ concept will remain the same. There will be great comfort food and all those local Arizona beers to enjoy at your friendly neighborhood bar. If all else goes as planned, Boondocks Tempe will open in the next couple of months.
