Happy Joe Coffee has arrived in Arizona and is gearing up to serve the Tempe area next year. Originating in West Hollywood, Happy Joe has moved their headquarters to the Valley and will be opening their first Arizona café at 213 E. 7th St., reported first by The Business Journals and AZ Big Media.
“We are really excited to be here and to get involved with the ASU community,” co-owner Joe Yarbrough tells What Now Phoenix. A community-oriented company, Happy Joe Coffee looks forward to becoming a part of the already vibrant college scene in Tempe.
Happy Joe specializes in CBD-infused coffee. Knowing that coffee and college go hand-in-hand, Yarbrough thinks that today’s generation of college students are a lot more open and will readily welcome this new concept.
That said, Yarbrough emphasizes that they are a coffee company first, which is why their primary focus is in serving a delicious, artisanal cup of coffee. Sourcing their beans through direct-trade relationships with global farmers, the beans are roasted in small, made-to-order batches guaranteeing the highest quality possible in every cup.
Unlike most coffee shops, which use droppers to infuse CBD into their drinks, Happy Joe Coffee infuses the bean itself with nano-emulsified CBD derived from 100-percent organic hemp. The result is a flavorful cup of joe balancing your body and mind with less than 0.3-percent THC, meaning you don’t get “high.”
Instead, each cup comes out to 20 mg of CBD, which is the optimal dosage to counteract the cortisol release in your body and means no crash or jitters. That said, those who are just looking for a classic, no-frills cup of coffee can select any of their “Just Coffee” blends, which contain no CBD.
Yarbrough is also excited about the food offerings at the new café, particularly the waffle tacos. These come in a variety of sweet and savory flavors, from PB&J to cheddar bacon. They will also have a selection pizza bagels, pastries, and more.
