The Craftsman opened its flagship location in Scottsdale in October 2020 and is currently in the process of launching a second in Tempe. When What Now Phoenix spoke with Jim Ebel via email last month, the restaurateur said the Tempe spot was “probably about 30 days out from opening,” but that there was “no specific date yet.”

Nevertheless, the brand will soon have three locations in as many years, a testament to its reputation among the community.

Billing its menu as “creative comfortable food and drinks,” The Craftsman offers sandwiches such as a Wagyu Pastrami, Crispy Chickpea Cake, and Heavy Handed Grilled Cheese, as well as entrees like the Volcano Pork, Brick Oven Striped Bass, and Chashu Pork Ramen, with Craftsman Fritters, Spumoni Pana Cotta, and a Dark Chocolate Brownie for dessert.

Meanwhile, its extensive menu of signature cocktails made with house-distilled gin, vodka, bourbon, amaro, and rum includes the Rebirth, Sweet Cherry Manhattan, Bloody Italian, SouthWest Fashioned, and more.

However, it’s worth noting that, as The Craftsman explains on its website, the restaurant “is known for its innovative cocktails. We rotate them frequently in an effort to satisfy our curious palettes,” adding, “The exact menu will change from time to time and will always be exceptional.”
