Liar’s Club is the latest concept to hit Downtown Phoenix’s bar scene, taking over the former Downtown Deli at 130 N. Central Ave. The new cocktail bar is brought to us by Misa Hospitality, who are the minds behind other drinkeries such as Baby Boy and the newly opened Khla. Their third downtown project is set to open in September

Misa Hospitality is run by Colton Brock, Tyka Chheng, and John Sagasta. Brock is developing the cocktail program, featuring an agave-forward cocktail menu, as well as beers and wines. Chheng is cooking up a menu that will include Detroit-style pizza, smash burgers, and bar snacks.

Liar’s Club is a space meant to celebrate our humanity. “At the end of the day, we’re all humans with our own faults and secrets. We thought that was cool to celebrate that,” Brock tells Phoenix New Times. From fake signs and art installations, to bartenders who will each have their own signature lie, “You’re never going to know what’s real and what’s not,” Brock says.

He adds, “You can always be sure the service is going to be really good, the food and drinks are going to be really good. Other than that, we might be lying our asses off about something.” Stay tuned.
