Laveen Village could soon get a new gas station and convenience store. Plans have been filed in Maricopa County to develop the ground-up project, at 5125 West Dobbins Road, near Go Go Gadget Glass and Laveen Education Center.

Mark Adekoya, who is listed as the property owner in application filings, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.

The proposed floor plan includes a fuel canopy and a 4,000 square-foot convenience store, complete with restrooms, a beer cave, cooler and freezer, office supply aisle, hot foods section, and a self-service station, with an additional 1,500 square feet reserved for food prep and tables for dining in.

From the looks of it, the quick-serve restaurant will also offer a drive-thru.

No word on when the gas station and convenience store will open (or which fuel company will be sharing the space), but seeing as that corner of Dobbins and 51st is currently void of both gas stations and convenience stores, the new spot should bring welcomed relief to those whose stomachs and tanks are running on empty.

So they are going to put a gas station in the middle of a neighborhood? It is surrounded by houses. Would make way more sense by the freeway a mile away….Not sure what they are thinking…
