Previously, What Now Phoenix reported on the company, led by Teddy and Katie Myers, opening new dining concepts in the former home of Hooters at 455 N 3rd St #190 and three concepts at the long-struggling Arizona Center. This is on top of previously announced projects, including a new concept in the former PF Chang’s space at Centerpoint on Mill Avenue in Tempe and Carry On, a new 1960s airplane-themed cocktail bar in downtown Phoenix.

After a few months, the restaurant group has some updates and has added a few new members to its organization. Pretty Decent Concepts, which already operates Chico Malo, Wren and Wolf, and Trophy Room, plans to open Carry on first, scheduled to open in early fall at the corner of First Avenue and Washington Street, according to AZ Central. This concept was initially supposed to open in May. Other updates include more details on the company’s Arizona Center development.

The group has officially named the three concepts coming to the former Hooters restaurant. Cleaverman, Uppercut, and Filthy will be three concepts in one, expected to open in the second quarter of 2025, ideally before the summer. Cleaverman is the steakhouse concept initially planned for Chico Malo, while Uppercut will be a 12-course, meat-focused fine dining experience. Finally, Filthy will be a vintage martini bar.

Over in Tempe, where Pretty Decent Concepts is planning to open its first concept outside of downtown, few details have been shared regarding the new restaurant that will replace P.F. Chang’s. While the details have not been shared, the restaurant group plans to open this concept in February or March 2025.

Finally, Pretty Decent Concepts has recently enlisted mixologist Jax Donahue as the beverage director for all of the group’s upcoming concepts. Before this, Donahue worked at various Phoenix bars and restaurants, including Clever Koi and Crudo, and, most recently, as the beverage director at Barter & Shake Cocktail Entertainment. Now, he will help Pretty Decent Concepts with its upcoming concepts, starting with Carry On, which will have about 20 cocktails Donahue describes as “modern takes on retro classics.”

“We’re so excited for Jax to join the Pretty Decent Concepts team and help bring the ‘Carry On’ project to life,” Theodore Myers, the company’s founder, said in a press release. “We knew (Carry On) needed to have a world-class cocktail program. We’re so grateful to have Jax on our team overseeing the vision.”
