Last Thursday, Oct 6, the Scottsdale Design Review Board officially green-lit a new five-star restaurant dubbed Calle Rosa by local hospitality group, Riot House, to be located in a defunct office building at the corner of Camelback Road and Saddlebag Trail. Construction on the three-story restaurant should start early next year.

“As a national hospitality management company based in Scottsdale, we are incredibly proud to bring a new five-star dining experience here,” says Riot Hospitality spokesperson, Lissa Druss. “We are dedicated to ensuring Scottsdale has nothing but the best.”

Calle Rosa’s distinction as an upscale, fine-dining establishment came as something of a savior for the project, as neighboring residential areas and the nearby Best Western Sundial hotel voiced potential noise concerns to the review board when it was initially proposed last August, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.

As such, Riot Hospitality Group, along with development partners Stockdale Capital Partners and architecture firm Bar Napkin Productions, came back with solutions that include noise barriers along the second and third floor outside dining areas, of what will ultimately be a three-story structure housing a parking garage, valet station, and lobby on the ground floor, main dining area on the second, and bar and lounge on the third.

What’s more, Boyce O’Brien of Stockdale Capital Partners explained that Calle Rosa would foster a five-star atmosphere with “$100 plates,” and was quoted in the Business Journal as saying, “It’s not a nightclub. We do not think that a nightclub belongs here.”

With its headquarters in Scottsdale, Riot Hospitality Group currently operates 13 brands across Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee, and Illinois, such as Cake Nightclub, Maya Dayclub, Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, El Hefe, and the eponymous Riot House, amongst others.

According to the group’s official website, “RHG strives to provide unique social experiences for every patron, feel connected to the neighborhoods that are home to RHG locations, and uphold an impeccable reputation by providing amazing food and drink in truly inviting and electric atmospheres.”
