The corner of Ash Street and Vaughn Avenue in Gilbert is about to get a little bit sweeter! Scoopwell’s Dough Bar is headed for 325 N. Ash St. in the Heritage District, according to a recent building permit found in city public records.
Scoopwell’s Dough Bar specializes in edible cookie dough made with a top-secret recipe that utilizes heat-treated flour and pasteurized eggs, which makes the dough safe to consume unbaked. From classic flavors, like Chocolate Chip and Brownie Batter, to more inspired ones like Lemon Poppyseed and Gimme S’mores, there is something for everyone’s sweet tooth.
There is even an option to add mix-ins to your dough for those who want to get seriously creative. Of course, Scoopwell’s dough can be taken to-go and baked at home. They also have freshly-baked cookies on rotation in their shop in addition to ice cream, The Konery waffle cones, and duffles.
Scoopwell’s Dough Bar is a family-owned business by John and Kendra Scheer, who confirm that they will hopefully be ready to open by Summer 2022. Currently under construction, they will be the first tenants in a previously unoccupied space near Oregano’s.
“We’re excited to expand and share our sweet treats with the locals of Gilbert,” John Scheer tells What Now Phoenix. He says that their second location will have a bit more open-air space for their guests, but Gilbert can expect the same delightful menu served online and at their first shop.
This coming January will mark Scoopwell’s third anniversary in business. Their current shop is located at the Uptown Plaza in Phoenix but soon, East Valley folks won’t have to travel too far to get a taste of this delicious dough.
