Sweetfin, a Los Angeles-based poke bowl and plant-based bowl concept, recently announced a partnership with Poke House, an international brand of the same category. The latter has become the largest investor of Sweetfin, fueling the group’s intentions to open 80 corporate-owned units across the U.S. and Europe throughout 2022.

“Sweetfin is the pioneer in the global poke and plant-based bowl category, and we’re proud to team up with Europe’s leaders of the same segment,” Sweetfin President and Co-Founder Seth Cohen said in a press release.

“Poke House’s international presence is very strong, and we have been impressed with the growth of their brand and team, as well as the technological investments that they’ve made in their business. Through this strategic partnership, we have a goal of tripling our unit count and entering new territories throughout the Southwest and other markets in the U.S.” The group is actively scouting real estate in the Valley, though no leases have been signed at this time.

Sweetfin began in 2015 when Cohen, along with co-founders Alan Nathan and Brett Nestadt, wanted to bring authentic Hawaiian poke to Los Angeles following a trip to the islands. The result was a fast-casual restaurant serving fresh and accessible poke and plant-based bowls. Customers can customize their own meals or order Signature Bowls from a menu created by former Top Chef contestant Chef Dakota Weiss.

Poke House is a foodtech company that boasts more than 75 locations throughout Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, and the U.K. Their success stems from their in-house omni-channel system (click & collect, App and payment systems) and a proprietary CRM software with a loyalty program that counts thousands of users.

Sweetfin currently has 14 locations throughout southern California. Partnering with Poke House brings that total to 90, though that number is about to increase exponentially over the next year. Along with this rapid expansion, Sweetfin and Poke House will share digital capabilities, while focusing on delivery to drive their growth. For more information, visit www.sweetfin.com.
