It won’t be the first TAPS Fish House and Brewery, but it will be the first TAPS Fish House and Brewery in Scottsdale. Joe Manzella, founder and proprietor, has been brewing beer since the 90s. He first got the idea to start his own brewery while abroad in Germany. There he saw the possibility of what beer could be. When he returned to the states he got to work.

Manzella is now a successful independent restaurateur with multiple California restaurants, and soon he will be opening one more, this time in Scottsdale.

TAPS Fish House & Brewery recently signed a lease for an almost 7,000 square foot retail space in the North Scottsdale Submarket. The fish and beer joint is due to take over the space at 23207 N Scottsdale Road in July of 2021.

You won’t want to miss out on these suds. According to their website, “TAPS has been honored three times (2010, 2011, and 2015) as the Mid-Size Brewpub and Brewers of the Year at the largest national beer competition—the Great American Beer Festival®.” Scottsdale will soon with flowing brews like ‘Velvet Hog,’ a full-bodied, dark chocolate, and dark roast coffee black ale, as well as ‘Poseidon,’ a light-medium, tropical golden ale, just to name a couple. And the fish house aspect is pretty sweet too.

TAPS is a ‘true fish house’ with a substantial menu that offers a ‘global cuisine’ with flavors from the Pacific Rim, South Pacific, California Coastal and Baja, Cajun and Creole as well as the east coast, Midwest, and even Canada.

Who needs the chips when you’ve got award-winning brews and fish. I’m only joking—at TAPS, you don’t have to choose.
