Late last year we announced that The Vig was shutting down the Uptown restaurant to make way for a new concept, The Genuine. At the time, Genuine Concepts Co-Owner Tucker Woodbury told us that he’d eventually find a new spot for The Vig’s fifth restaurant and it looks like that time has come.

The Vig will be taking over Ladera Taverna Y Cocina at 8729 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix’s Sunnyslope neighborhood over the coming months. The Vig positions itself as an upscale neighborhood tavern, serving elevated pub fare such as burgers made with Rovey Dairy Wagyu beef and a lengthy list of beer, wine, and cocktails.

For its part, Ladera Taverna Y Cocina will be serving its last meals and pouring its final drinks on Monday, July 4. Rumor has it that the restaurant will be offering some pretty awesome discounts to mark the occasion. Afterward, renovations will begin on the space to make it feel more like The Vig.

Both The Vig and Ladera Taverna Y Cocina are a part of Genuine Concepts, which also operates The Little Woody, The McMillan Bar & Kitchen, The Womack, and The Genuine. For more information, visit www.genuineconcepts.us.
