Arizona is about to get a lot sweeter. Cookie and soda shop Twisted Sugar, known for its signature and create-your-own sodas and daily freshly baked cookies, has locations throughout six states (with Florida and Colorado soon to join the growing list, according to their website), two of which are in Gilbert, AZ.

According to Elisia Richins of Realty ONE Group, Twisted Sugar’s Arizona leasing rep, six new shops are headed to the Grand Canyon state and will open soon in Queen Creek, Glendale, Mesa, Good Year, Peoria, and the San Tan Valley. Whitney McBride, who oversees the Twisted Sugar AZ marketplace, recently secured a lease in the San Tan Valley, at 40975 N Ironwood Rd in the Ocotillo Trails Marketplace, and the sweets shop has secured another lease in Good Year in Pebblecreek, where it will break ground later this year.

Twisted Sugar’s Glendale location, at the highly-anticipated En Fuego shopping center on the corner of 91st and Glendale across from Westgate, will hopefully open the first week of July, complete, of course, with a drive-thru. Also expected to open the first week of July is the Peoria location, at 24737 N Lake Pleasant Parkway.

The dessert and soda shop is also currently in construction at The Pecans in Queen Creek, on the corner of Ellsworth and Riggs Roads (they’ve got the “coming soon” sign up already), in conjunction with a Backyard Taco, and will be the only drive-thru in the area. Its Mesa location, expected to open early next year, will be on the corner of Ellsworth and Elliot Roads in Eastmark, across from Dignity Health and near the Eastmark Sports Complex.

“Twisted Sugar is all the best stuff about a dessert shop. We have over twenty cookie flavors, all of which are second to none,” says Julianne Borden, VP of Business Development. “And our sodas are triple filtered and run through chilled copper wire. They’re the cleanest, crispest drinks you can get.”

It’s about to get scorching hot in the valley, and a clean, crisp soda is sounding pretty good right about now, so keep your eyes peeled on 4th of July Weekend for a Twisted Sugar drive-thru, and snag yourself one of those coconut, pineapple, and strawberry Summer Lovin sodas.
