Vero Chicago Pizza already has four locations around the East Valley and word on the street is that they are already preparing for their fifth outpost. A pending liquor license application indicates that Vero is coming to Chandler at 5070 S. Gilbert Road.

Vero Chicago Pizza is brought to us by the Scarnato family, who moved to Arizona from their native Chicago, where brothers Tim and Joe originally founded Buddyz A Chicago Pizzeria. In 2013, they debuted Buddyz in Queen Creek and began expanding across the Valley.
In 2020, they decided to come up with a new concept and franchising opportunity for their friends and family. A year later, the first Vero Chicago Pizzeria debuted in Gilbert. Locations in San Tan Village, Ahwatukee, Queen Creek, and San Tan Valley followed shortly after.
Now, it looks like Chandler is the next lucky city to get these delicious deep dish, thin crust, and butter crust pizzas. They also serve pastas, sandwiches, wings, salads, and a variety of cravable starters. Based on the liquor license application, they are sure to serve a bevy of adult beverages, too.
They will be taking over the former Creole Cajun Bistro, now permanently closed, behind the CVS on the southwest corner of Gilbert and Chandler Heights. Representatives for Vero Chicago Pizza have not confirmed an opening date and requested that we check in some time next year. Until we know more, stay tuned to their website for more information, or follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
Correction: An earlier version of this article suggested the new Vero location would open within a few months and noted that representatives haven’t been reached. They’ve since been in touch with What Now Phoenix to state that they don’t have a firm opening date yet.
