Last year, What Now Phoenix reported on franchise owner Matt Hunter and his family opening a new site in Peoria at 7518 W Thunderbird Road. While the family initially hoped to open next month, the opening date has been pushed back to May. While work progresses on that site, Jet’s Pizza is preparing to open two more locations in Surprise and Uptown Phoenix later this year under franchise owner Valley Crunch LLC.

The fast-growing company recently opened a new location in Gilbert at 1458 N. Higley Road, Suite 101. Founded by Eugene Jetts in 1978, the company has recently opened at least a dozen locations throughout the country, and many more are on the way, according to its website. Jet’s Pizza is expecting to open at least 19 locations in 12 different states, including three in Florida and Texas, two in Indiana and Michigan, and more.

“Jet’s offers more than famous Detroit-style pizzas, like hand-tossed round, thin-crust, and NY-Style pizzas, fresh salads, breads, and desserts,” according to the company’s website. “One thing that will never change is their commitment to quality ingredients. Jets stands for the freshest vine-ripened tomatoes, Italian herbs and spices, dough prepared by hand each day, and hand-grated, premium mozzarella cheese. Of course, a few things have changed. That first location has grown to more than 400 in 22 states.”
