When Mac moved with his son from Chicago to Phoenix, he knew he wanted to share his love of health and community. Mac didn’t just want to move closer to his family, he also thought he could bring something to enhance the city and community, which was health based. Mac looked into other franchises but didn’t appreciate how some products were sugary and without a lot of variety.

When he came across Pure Green, Mac told What Now Phoenix in a phone interview, he knew it felt right to bring it to Phoenix. “The simple, raw juices were amazing, the immunity shots were unique, the avocado toasts, the oatmeal, and the juice cleanses were a major factor.” Seeing those options, he told himself, “This is a no-brainer, and from there, it just kind of kicked off, so I’m excited to bring a health-conscious business into the community.”

This certainly fits in with Pure Green’s vision of its franchises. “Our guests don’t go to a Pure Green,” they describe on the website, “they go to their Pure Green, and each location is a reflection of the community it’s a part of.”

That could be why Mac fought so hard to obtain the property at 4750 East Indian School Road. He has plans to move his family there so his son can attend Arcadia High School, which he’s heard for years is a quality school. It took him over a year to secure the lease, he told What Now Phoenix, and he said he “fought with everything I had. [When I saw it], Everything was speaking to me about this location. This is it. This is the one.”

With a strong background in community service and coaching the youth in his community back in Chicago, Mac has hopes to bring that energy to the Arcadia neighborhood as well, starting with a bike group using the new Pure Green as its base.

Pure Green plans to open in April; construction started in February, and Mac predicts it will be an eight-week process. He hopes the community enjoys it as much as he anticipates because “It’s a clean look, and I think that’s something that people are going to gravitate towards: just a clean look, the clean ingredients, and just how refreshing all of the products are.”
