The new development will be 186,000 square feet at the Riverwalk development, nearly doubling its proposed size, according to Phoenix Business Journal. Pure Pickleball & Padel will now feature 48 pickleball courts and two padel courts, space for 12 temporary courts outside, a 5,000-person championship court, a pro shop, a full-service restaurant and bar, locker rooms, exercise and recovery rooms, on-site childcare, a special event court, box seats, office space, a broadcast booth, a rooftop bar, and lounge.

With so much to offer, the new facility will also be the home of the AZ Drive — a Major League Pickleball team backed by Arizona Cardinals great Larry Fitzgerald Jr. Eventually, Kevin Berk, a co-founder of Pure Pickleball & Padel, hopes Pure Pickleball & Padel will collaborate with USA Pickleball and is looking to finalize having his company be a host site for USA Pickleball National Championships. Pure Pickleball & Padel was the first user to hop on board the Riverwalk development, which encompasses roughly 80 acres and is being developed by Caliber. It’s unclear when this complex and adjoining dining spots will open.

“We want to be the host site for the largest and most prestigious tournaments,” said Brett Warner, a co-founder of Pure Pickleball & Padel. “We want to be a major league stadium. We understand the sport is going to connect amateur players, new players, all the way up to professionals,” Warner said. “When we open, the Valley will be the capital of the sport of pickleball. This is going to be where everybody comes to play. This is where everyone expects the largest events to take place.”
