“Things are going great for us,” said CEO Joe Vrankin when he spoke to What Now Phoenix on Thursday. “We opened up in Atlanta back in April and we’ve blown past every metric we’d set up in advance.”

The mini golf experience, created by twins Steven and Dave Jolliffe, is designed to target the adult audience they mean to attract.

“They worked on this technology for seven years before it turned into what we’re using today,” said Vrankin. “They took technology that didn’t exist and really reinvented miniature golf.”

Each golf ball comes with a GPS tracking system and keeps track of points so you don’t have to. The tracking system also makes sure no one picks up the ball and moves it around to cheat. Some of the specialty holes include a beer pong hole and a trivial pursuit hole.

“We’re just touching on childhood and making things fun for adults. The real magic here is that there’s no other place you can play a game of miniature golf the way we’ve created it.”

The menu, according to the website, will be a “journey of global flavors,” offering a reason to come visit outside of just playing the game.

Despite some challenges with the pandemic, Puttshack is slated to be open in the second half of 2022.
