This latest development follows the Goodyear Civic Square at GSQ by Globe Corp. in partnership with the City of Goodyear that debuted last year with a new city hall building, two-story library, two-acre community park, office and retail space. Designed to complement the Civic Square, highlights of the new mixed-use development include a gathering place with first-of-its-kind entertainment concepts, a mix of both high-end and fast-casual restaurants with patios along with a mix of big-box retail and specialty shops completed with multi-family residential, office space and hotel.

The joint venture will create a much-needed shopping, dining and entertainment destination in Goodyear.

RED has a longstanding history of developing and revitalizing downtowns, most notably with CityScape Phoenix. The company is also reinvigorating Paradise Valley with PV, the more than 100-acre redevelopment of the former Paradise Valley Mall.

“Collaborating with Globe Corporation to build on their impressive success with this project is something we couldn’t resist,” said Mike Ebert, managing partner at RED in a statement. “The City of Goodyear has also been an extraordinary partner and shares our vision in building a vibrant, upscale destination that will radically enhance how residents live, work and play in Goodyear.”

Construction on GSQ is slated to begin in 2024 with additional announcements expected to be made later this year.

“Entering this next phase of developing GSQ with RED is a great honor, we know their proven record of creating dynamic destinations combined with our family’s dedication to the community for the past 50 years will be instrumental in making it a Goodyear icon,” said George Getz, co-CEO at Globe Corp. “The magnitude of GSQ will be something that Goodyear has never seen before and will significantly shift the community with a coveted center in the heart of the city.”

“Our dream of a downtown is one step closer to becoming reality now that RED Development has partnered with the Globe Corporation to develop the area around Goodyear’s City Hall,” said Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo. “We have all the right partners working together to create a very special walkable district for our residents—and the greater Southwest valley region—to enjoy as they bring quality shopping, dining, and entertainment to this area. This is a very exciting step in the development of GSQ.”
