The new restaurant will be owned and operated by business partners Dan Leung and Fred Bux, the owner and director of operations of Red Point Development Inc., respectively. It will mark their fourth location overall, with more in development to open before year-end, according to a press release. Together, they’ve forged a successful partnership, leveraging Bux’s extensive experience in the restaurant and quick-service food sector with Leung’s investment expertise with his passion for the restaurant industry.

“We are very excited about bringing the brand to Peoria and expanding its presence into more areas in Arizona,” Leung said in a press release. “We were initially drawn to Checkers and Rally’s due to its efficient store design, streamlined operations and iconic food offerings. It aligns perfectly with my dual passions for restaurants and business ownership. Together, we are looking forward to witnessing the positive reception from the local community for the new location.”

Recognizing the demand for quick and efficient dining options in Arizona, Checkers and Rally’s drive-thru operations have been designed to leverage technological advancements, AI innovations, and menu offerings based on guests’ tastes. Checkers is known for its ease of operations, with a model that has replaced dining rooms with patio seating and eliminates the need for additional labor during operating hours. Pairing this with the double drive-thru and quick service menu offerings, Checkers & Rally’s proves itself to be an appealing franchise ownership opportunity with room to grow.

“Dan and Fred are exactly the type of operators we’re looking for, and with their unparalleled experience and love for the brand, we know they will flourish in Peoria,” Kris McDonald, Vice President of Development at Checkers & Rally’s, said in a press release. “As Checkers and Rally’s grows throughout the U.S., we are eager to break into new markets and work alongside like-minded entrepreneurs and local communities.”

Merged in 1999 to form one concept, Checkers and Rally’s primarily operates through a proven franchise model, in which owners benefit from brand recognition, operational support and marketing resources. Potential franchise prospects can develop on less than half an acre, half the size of competing drive-thru concepts. Checkers and Rally’s current strategy targets select markets throughout the United States, particularly Wisconsin, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, Las Vegas, Arizona, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. With over 800 locations in the United States, including nine in Arizona, there’s no slowing down on momentum.
