Adam and Alicia Vath, owners of the home brewing supply store, have signed a lease for a new space in north Phoenix and hope to raise $20,000 for the opening, according to Mouth by Southwest. The Vaths bought What’s Ale’s Ya from Chuck Therio when he decided to retire in 2021. Since taking over, they have introduced brewing classes catering to beginners and seasoned brewers alike, and held beer competitions every other month. Once funding is secured, the owners can take the next steps with opening.

“Introducing Hopsology Brewhouse and Taproom, a dream that began nearly eight years ago when Adam envisioned a welcoming space where friends and family could gather to enjoy great beer and wine while learning the craft of brewing,” according to the company’s Kickstarter. “The journey started when Adam approached the original owner of What Ale’s Ya with the idea of integrating a homebrew store into a taproom with an instructional brewery. Chuck, the owner, embraced the concept wholeheartedly.”

The money from the campaign will be used to install a walk-in cooler and other equipment needs essential for operations. The contributions will enable the team to acquire these necessary tools, allowing them to meet the highest standards of hygiene, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. By supporting the campaign, the Vaths believe it is not only helping them purchase equipment, but helps them invest in the future of Hopsology and the vibrant community they will serve. Despite funding, there’s potential risk of delays based on the city and county’s permitting and inspection process.

“As we embark on the next chapter of our journey with Hopsology Brewhouse and Taproom, we’re excited to share our vision with you,” according to the company’s Kickstarter. “Your support will help us bring our dream to life and elevate the brewing experience for our community. With this campaign, we aim to raise funds to secure essential equipment for our taproom. Our top priority is installing a walk-in cooler to ensure that our beers are stored at optimal temperatures, preserving their freshness and flavor. Not only does this align with our commitment to quality, but it also ensures compliance with Phoenix health code regulations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all our patrons.”
