This will be the newest concept from chef and owner Corrado La Macchia, who opened Corrado’s Cucina Italiana in Carefree. The veteran chef, with more than 39 years of culinary experience, is opening his second Arizona restaurant in the former home of Gastrome gourmet market, according to AZ Central. La Macchia plans to create an open kitchen for the concept, which is expected to open in the second week of February.

When the new restaurant opens, customers can expect a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options specializing in “classic Italian dishes,” including fresh pasta, Bolognese, and carbonara, as well as shrimp and scallop appetizers. Daily specials will be available based on seasonality. The concept will also offer different Italian pastries and desserts, as well as Italian spirits such as Amari and Campari. Corso Italia will be open from 7 am to 10 pm daily.

“My main focus is the restaurant part, which will be a classy dining experience,” La Macchia tells AZ Central. “And the second will be focusing on catering. Anything that has to do with Italy, food-wise and wine-wise, will be here. I want to bring the best I can from Italy. I cook every single dish. I don’t want people to come here because they are hungry but because they enjoy food, drink, and company.”
