The company, which has roots in St. Louis, MO, has been considering an expansion since last year when the owners posted a poll on the restaurant’s Facebook to get a feel for where customers want them to land. Recently, the company hinted on social media that they are getting closer to opening a second location in Mesa, saying it will feature a full bar, a live DJ, and more. The restaurant says the overwhelming community support is a big reason for the expansion.

While an exact opening date has yet to be determined, the company’s social media promises more details are coming soon. Momma’s Soul Fish & Chicken recently gained attention after food influencer and competitive eater Joel Hansen visited the restaurant to take on their food challenge in his YouTube series, Model Vs. Food. When the new location opens, customers can expect some of Momma’s favorites, including fried catfish strips, mac & cheese, peach cobbler, hush puppies, and more. The company’s original location can be found at 15414 N 19th Ave.

“Momma’s Soul has standout dishes like the golden fried fish and crispy fried chicken down to the cheesy, mouthwatering mac n cheese and the melt-in-your-mouth collard greens and much more,” according to the company’s website. “At Momma’s Soul, the passion and dedication that Momma pours into her cooking are evident in every bite. If you are in need for a Soulful culinary experience that will leave you craving, look no further than Momma’s Soul Fish and Chicken.”
