The popular burger chain will move into the city’s new $87.7 million-downtown dining hub, developed by RED Development, a Phoenix-based commercial real estate company, and Scottsdale-based Globe Corp., according to Phoenix Business Journal. The new 3,437-square-foot restaurant will have a drive-through and is expected to open by the end of 2024, hopefully in the fall. This is the first site in West Valley, despite the company opening five locations since its area debut in 2016.

“Shake Shack has a huge following, and we are very happy to welcome them to Goodyear, where they are sure to be a favorite of our residents,” Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo said in a statement.

When Shake Shack opens next year, customers can expect Angus beef burgers, hand-spun milkshakes, house-made lemonade, beer and wine, and more. Those who want to try the brand before it gets to Goodyear can do so at one of the existing locations in Scottsdale, Uptown Plaza in Phoenix, Kierland Commons, Sky Harbor Airport, and San Tan Village in Gilbert. The restaurant will join several other already announced businesses, such as The Stillery, Copper & Sage Gastropub, The Yard Milkshake Bar, F45 Training, and more.

“The amenities in our GSQ mixed-use project are a critical component to creating the new downtown for the city of Goodyear,” Globe Corp. CFO Mike Olsen said in a statement. “For good reason, we have been very selective about who we are bringing to the project.”
