This will be the company’s second, second location, as The Bar closed its first second location in downtown Gilbert location earlier this year. Now, the company is bouncing back, moving into the former home of Mateo’s Beach Bar, according to a recent liquor license application. The Big Lobowski-themed bar is expected to open in Fall 2024, offering the same menu full of bar food and delicious cocktails in a vibrant, anti-corporate setting that is fun for everyone.

The Bar’s original location is in Arcadia at 3174 E Indian School Road, led by general manager Jenna Pierides and owner Frank Vairo, who also owns Nook Kitchen in the same area. Now, the self-described “Midwestern” tavern is getting ready to expand again. While the company’s website only lists this one new location as the only upcoming site, the website also suggests that more locations are coming soon. There’s a chance The Bar will expand to more sites following Uptown.

“The Bar abides to be a friendly neighborhood establishment that provides the utmost patron satisfaction with top-notch beverage offerings and provisions,” according to the company’s website. “Located in a comfortable, independent, non-corporate setting within the Arcadia/Biltmore area, our soulful and genuine atmosphere brings to mind a Midwestern feel, particularly reminiscent of the state of Michigan.”
