Wren House Brewing Co. took home The Great American Beer Festival’s most competitive award of 2020: the best Juicy or Hazy India Pale Ale for Spellbinder, their signature New England style IPA, so it kind of goes without saying that Wren House makes good beer.

What isn’t such old news, however, is that the brewery is looking to expand. According to “The Active Tenant List,” put out by Jared Cauffield, Wren is currently looking to expand to the Southeast Valley.

The brewery has a preference for a ‘unique’ piece of real estate, which makes sense given their story. According to Wren’s website, their first location in Phoenix’s Green Gables neighborhood took over a property that had long fallen into disrepair. The brewery’s proprietors “fell in love with its character” and repurposed the old guest house into their brewhouse. They transformed the 1930s bungalow into their taproom. It makes sense that they’re hoping to stay on-brand for their second location. According to the listing, the company is looking for a space with at least 2,000 square feet to work with.

While the brewery pours their fair share of IPAs, from the ‘Tylda’ double New England, to ‘Wally’s New Gang’ triple, they also brew their own session ales, pilsners, and lagers. Their classic porter, ‘Black Caddis,’ is “brewed with a variety of crystal & hints of various black malts including chocolate rye. Notes of coffee & fresh baked brownies [provide] a super soft finish.”

We were unable to reach owner Drew Pool at the time of publication, but if you’re reading this and you know of some good leads, help the brewery out.
