Beard Papa’s is coming soon to SanTan Village on Paseo Drive near Macy’s. Suite 113 is currently under construction at Gilbert’s destination open-air shopping mall. Owner Yasmin Rahimi confirmed with What Now Phoenix that they are still in the permitting stage, so the SanTan location will most likely open around February or March 2022.
Rahimi owns the Arizona franchise for Beard Papa’s stores. She opened the Scottsdale outpost – the first location in Arizona – a little over a year ago to much success, which makes the opening of this second store no surprise.
Beard Papa’s specializes in “fresh and natural cream puffs,” as is their slogan. Indeed, the cream puffs are made fresh daily. Shell dough is imported straight from Japan, where the chain originated.
The shells are baked in batches of 15 and after 33 minutes in the oven, they begin to rise and create a hollow center. They then get filled with a custard-based cream, which is a three-hour process that is repeated every other day or so.
Customers can pick from eight different shell flavors, including Chocolate, Green Tea, Strawberry, S’mores, and more. They then get to select from four different fillings, including vanilla, green tea, chocolate, and a seasonal flavor.
Rahimi says that Beard Papa’s offers catering for special events. There is also a Beard Papa’s app that allows customers to order ahead for pick up, in addition to delivery through their favorite food delivery service. For more information, visit www.beardpapas.com.
