Green Corner Mediterranean Cuisine, which has restaurants in Chandler and Mesa, is due to open a third in Scottsdale, ABC 15 first reports. Later this month, customers will soon be able to get their favorite Beef Shawarma and Baklava at 10392 N. Scottsdale Road in the former Porkopolis Bar-B-Que space at Scottsdale Commons.

Green Corner Restaurant is known for delectable dishes such as their Gyros Plate and Chicken Kebab, which is served with sides of rice, Greek salad, hummus, and pita bread. All of their meals come with a free slice of Baklava. Green Corner puts their own spin on the popular Mediterranean dessert by making different flavors with ingredients like walnuts.

The restaurant was founded by nephew and uncle team Ash Abu Sharkh and Ebrahim Takkem. The pair opened the first Green Corner Restaurant in Mesa in 2016, named so because it was in the corner space of a shopping center and because “green” represented the healthy and fresh fare that they serve.

“In like 6 months we couldn’t handle the amount of customers-they kept coming- so we started hiring more people”, Sharkh tells ABC 15. Two years later, they opened their second restaurant in Chandler and clearly, non-stop success has led them into Scottsdale, where they plan to open at the end of May.
