Austin-based Torchy’s Tacos touched down in Arizona this year and one of the Valley’s most highly-anticipated openings has been met with great fanfare. Even Valley-based Texans say it tastes just like it does back home.
And if you haven’t had the chance to make it out to Phoenix to get a taste yet — or simply don’t want to brave the dinner rush wait times — then rest assured that more Torchy’s Tacos are coming soon to a city near you. Earlier this year, ABC15 Arizona reported that Torchy’s had plans for a Gilbert location set to open in 2023, but did not say where it was going to be.
Well, according to a building permit obtained by What Now Phoenix, it looks like Torchy’s Tacos is about to go up at 2320 S. Santan Village Parkway, where a build out is about to start on a 3,902-square foot shell space. Representatives for Torchy’s Tacos could not be reached for comment.
Torchy’s Tacos is known nationwide for their inventive tacos, delicious queso, and much-needed margaritas, which have all created Taco Junkies out of their loyal customers. Their Taco of the Month promotions allow the chain to experiment and bring unique flavors to the table as well, giving customers something new to try on a regular basis.
This month it’s the Holy Diver, featuring grilled Achiote shrimp with cabbage slaw, chopped mango, pickled onions, jalapenos, cotija cheese, cilantro and jalapeno tartar sauce on a flour tortilla. For more information, visit torchystacos.com.
