Owner Amanda Atler tells What Now Phoenix that while wine is the main focus, the new wine bar will also feature four beers on tap, unique cocktails, craft coffee, Italian sodas, and more with a full liquor license. As for food, the new business will offer an array of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including an assortment of cheese and charcuterie boards, small plates, paninis, salads, flatbreads, a variety of entrees, and brunch service on the weekends. Mandy’s Wine Bar is expected to open in Summer 2024.

In addition to a set wine list, Atler plans to curate and feature new wine and food pairings each quarter instead of offering a rotating selection of regional wines. These unique selections will be inspired by her travels to various wine regions, both domestic and international. Upon entering the wine bar, guests can expect a wine-tasting counter and a small retail shop offering an array of wine-related items and small gifts for purchase. Although Atler aims to eventually offer bottles of wine for sale, this addition may not be available until early 2025. Finally, the space will feature a dog-friendly patio. While plenty of wine bars exist in the greater Phoenix area, this will be the first one in the city of Maricopa.

“It’s a dream come true!” Atler tells What Now Phoenix. “Combining the expertise gained from my 17-year career in business with my passion for wine and creating memorable experiences for people will undoubtedly be my most significant achievement. I’m also very excited to contribute to the growth of Maricopa and address a need for a concept like Mandy’s Wine Bar. My parents relocated to Maricopa about seven years ago, and I frequently visited from Seattle. During these visits, we often discussed the idea of establishing a wine bar in town. The concept was to create a space where people could come together and enjoy quality time over a glass of wine. This is the inspiration behind Mandy’s Wine Bar mantra: “Where Community Gathers.” I moved to Maricopa three years ago and decided to turn my research and planning into a reality.”
