According to a recent building permit found in City of Phoenix public records, a new convenience store and gas station is under construction at the northeast corner of 32nd Street and Indian School Road. Owner Yasser Majed confirmed with What Now Phoenix that the entire project should be ready no later than June 2022.
This site previously was home to a Shell gas station but as of October 2021, the site has been stripped down completely as you’ll see in the photo above. The permit reveals that a brand new 2,400 square-foot convenience store building will be built from the ground up as an addition to the space.
Rest assured, our sources suggest that this will still be a Shell gas station, which will be especially helpful for those traveling in and out of Camelback East. Of course, Indian School Road itself is always busy considering the number of businesses along this major road off SR-51. Keep an eye on this location to watch its progress over the coming months.
