The company recently announced on its website and social media that the building had been sold, and the owners are looking for a new location. Steak and Stone closed its doors on July 16. Managing member David Storrs tells What Now Phoenix that the company is looking up and down U.S. Route 60, around Gilbert/Chandler or Tempe, for its new location. There is no opening date as of now, considering the owners are still looking for a new home for the restaurant.

“We are excited for the future and look forward to a refresh of Steak and Stone along with new opportunities in the industry,” Storrs tells What Now Phoenix.

When the restaurant opens back up, customers can expect the same concept that serves traditional Southwest American cuisine. There will still be plenty of various cuts of steak and other delicious meat options at the restaurant when it opens. As for the original location, the new owners plan to renovate the space for “non-restaurant use.”

Steak and Stone is among one of many restaurants to have recently closed down in Phoenix. Cock N’ Tails on Seventh Street in Phoenix recently closed after three and half years. Meanwhile, Copper & Logs owners Fabrice and Mairead Buschetetz have sold the restaurant to Jennifer and Will Tews, who will reopen the space later this year as Holiday Toast & Tap. While Steak and Stone were forced to close its doors, it should have no problem gaining popularity again once it reopens.

My wife have been going to Steak and Stone since the original restaurant opened. We check at least every other day to see if a new location has been chosen. Rest assured, when it re-opens, we’ll be the first in line.
