The new site is expected to open in the Chandler Fashion Center in Fall 2024, according to a press release. This will be the restaurant’s second location in the greater Phoenix area, following the location near the Village Plaza shopping center at 4801 E Cactus Road. Founded in 2021 by The Maggiore Group, the restaurant expansion is the latest development from the powerhouse team behind The Rosticceria, Hash Kitchen, The Sicilian Butcher, and The Sicilian Baker.

The Mexicano by Chef Joey Concepts has mastered the art of elevated and interactive dining since its flagship location opened in Phoenix. The Mexicano’s chef-driven menu provides authentic cuisine, staying true to the traditions of Mexico while incorporating fusion cuisine, including birria bao buns and Instagram-worthy table items such as the guacamole and salsa ferris wheel. The new location will also feature the concept’s daily happy hour with specials on classic margaritas, Mexican draft beer, sangria, cocktails, and $3 tacos, including al pastor, chicken tinga, and the ‘Best F-ing Queso Birria.’

“Our Chandler location will be the same fun, energetic, delicious Mexicano our guests know and love,” says Joey Maggiore, chef and co-founder of The Maggiore Group and Chef Joey Concepts. “We are thrilled to be bringing our second location, and the party, to the Easy Valley this fall.”

Designed by Chef Joey’s wife, Cristina Maggiore, the Chandler location will keep its Mexico City roots and fiesta ambiance with vibrant colors, authentic imported furniture, indoor and outdoor seating, and a custom DJ booth for daily entertainment. Guests can expect the same energetic scene with rotating DJs spinning Latin music seven days a week, fire dancers, and special appearances by local Mariachi bands.
