The company’s fourth Arizona site is expected to move into a new development at the northwest corner of Cotton Lane and Peoria Avenue, according to a recent liquor license application. Trapper’s Sushi Co. will join several existing tenants, including Club Pilates, Sports Clips, Cotton Lane Dentistry, Saguaro Nails & Spa, and ApexNetwork Physical Therapy. The company began looking for staff for this site at the beginning of the year.

Trapper’s Sushi Co., led by owner Trapper O’Keeffe, already has three locations in Arizona in Anthem, Avondale, and Phoenix, as well as 11 in Washington and one in Texas. When the new Surprise location opens later this year, customers can expect a variety of Japanese appetizers and several sushi options, including fried and vegetarian choices. Trapper’s Sushi Co. also offers an all-you-can-eat option and a curated specialty drink menu that is adjusted specifically for each state.

“Trapper O’Keeffe has been preparing sushi for over 20 years,” according to the company’s website. “He trained in Reno, Nevada, under his brother-in-law, Eisuke Sato, at the age of 17. After Eisuke closed his restaurant and returned to Japan, Trapper took what he learned to Washington state. He quickly found his style of sushi was very popular and began searching for an opportunity to open his own restaurant. Trapper’s goal is to make Trapper’s Sushi Co. a place you’ll want to visit again and again.”
