KBP Brands purchased the land from real estate developer Davidson Myers & Associates on November 29 for $1.5 million, according to the Daily Independent. The franchise group already owns and operates nearly 1,000 fast-food restaurants under the Taco Bell, KFC, and Arby’s brands and is now working on bringing their roast beef sandwich concept to Gilbert on a 1.06-acre lot. There is no exact timeline for this opening, as plans still needs to be approved.

KBP Brands named Heather Stege as the brand president of KBP’s Arby’s business operations in April 2022. At the time, the franchisee group, which operates concepts under the Yum Brands and Inspire Brands umbrellas, acquired about 120 Arby’s locations nationwide, adding to its nearly 1,000 units in 30 states. Today, KBP Brands owns and operates over 800 restaurants across 25 states.

“KBP Brands is a leading restaurant franchise group with a clear vision: to create a great place to work, a great place to eat, and a great place to own,” according to the company’s website. “For more than 20 years, KBP has remained focused and deliberate about creating and sustaining an environment that values and balances our responsibility to, and impact on, our customers, people, and communities. “
