If you’re looking for New York-style pizza in the Valley, look no further than Artichoke Basille’s Pizza. The restaurant is scheduled to debut late this summer at Desert Ridge Marketplace in northern Phoenix

Co-owner and franchisee Ron Marino confirms with What Now Phoenix that they were just issued a permit to begin tenant improvements on a 3,518 square-foot shell space, which will also include a 1,000 square-foot patio. The space will be transformed into Artichoke Basille’s classic ambiance—think exposed brick and antique tin ceilings—but melded seamlessly with the trendy atmosphere of North Phoenix’s latest shopping and dining destination.

Artichoke Basille’s Pizza is known for their signature New York-style pizzas, including the Artichoke Pie (Artichoke Hearts, Spinach, Cream Sauce, Mozzarella, and Pecorino Romano Cheese) and the Crab Pie (Crab Sauce, Fresh Mozzarella With a Surimi Stuffing). This upcoming location will feature a full bar serving 12 to 16 beers on tap, plus wines and cocktails.  

For newcomers, Marino suggests starting with the garlic knots. “Then, you should get one Artichoke slice, which we can cut into smaller slices if you’re sharing. Trust me, the slices are massive,” he says, adding that the box salad and the Vodka Sicilian are also must-try items on the menu.

This will be the third location for Marino and his partners. The franchisee group introduced Artichoke Basille’s Pizza to Arizona starting with the Tempe location on Baseline Road in June 2020. The following year, they opened a second restaurant at 16th Street and Bethany Home Road in Phoenix.
