Last month, What Now Phoenix reported that the Southern California-based coffee company is venturing out of state with a forthcoming Surprise City Center development, projected to open next year. Now, Better Buzz Coffee has been announced as one of three future tenants coming to The Gilmore, an upcoming 35-acre mixed-use development located on Val Vista and Germann, according to Gilbert Now. Other new tenants announced for the development include Over Easy and Nook Kitchen.

Last year it was announced that Thompson Thrift will be developing this new mixed-use project, with a groundbreaking scheduled for April 2023, according to the Phoenix Business Journal. The non-residential component is expected to take 12-14 months to build. While there is a Dutch Bros Coffee nearby, this will be a perfect location for Better Buzz Coffee when it opens sometime next year. With two locations coming to the Phoenix area next year, it won’t be long before the popular San Diego coffee shop invests in more locations in the area.

“As Gilbert’s path of growth has extended south in recent years, there is strong demand from residents to have elevated shopping and dining options near where they work and live,” Ashlee Boyd, managing partner for Thompson Thrift Commercial, said last year at the time of the acquisition. “We are excited to collaborate across Thompson Thrift’s commercial, residential, and construction business units to bring a high-end, mixed-use project to the community.”
