I, too, was a little alarmed the first time I read the phrase “meet up with friends and enjoy a frozen greyhound.” After a little investigating, though, I can safely say, I am on board.

It turns out, the term is a bit of a playful misnomer. At Ingo’s Tasty Food, the frozen greyhound is the eatery’s signature gin drink (frozen or on-the-rocks), with citrus and mint. It even comes in in liters as well as glasses, to encourage sharing.

And this is only the tip of the iceberg, or the tip of the tail, I should say.

Ingo’s Tasty Food has been serving up grass-fed beef, hand-chopped salads, and shattered chips in Arcadia for some time. Now, the fast-casual restaurant will expand to both downtown Phoenix and North Scottsdale. The downtown location will open on E. Washington Street, while the North Phoenix location will open on the corner of Scottsdale Road and Mayo Boulevard.

Emily Collins of LGO Hospitality, the restaurant group that has brought Phoenix brands like Buck & Rider, Ingo’s Tasty Café, and more, told Phoenix Magazine, “ ‘after years of continuous success for Ingo’s in Arcadia, we could not be more excited to expand and introduce the brand community and menu experience to more residents and visitors in new neighborhoods around the city,.’ ”

Ingo’s Tasty Food in downtown Phoenix is aiming to open by mid-summer 2021. Guests will experience an all-day menu at the downtown spot, with the same full lunch and dinner menu, “plus the addition of a robust coffee program, full breakfast, and LGO Bakeshop Pastries,” Nicole Myden, Media and Marketing Manager for LGO Hospitality, wrote in an email to What Now Phoenix.

The North Scottsdale location will operate out of a roughly 2,000 square-foot space next to a new location of the restaurant group’s Buck & Rider, a popular seafood restaurant that also had its start in Arcadia. Ingo’s and Buck & Rider in North Scottsdale are both looking at mid-2022 openings.
