While Mijan Claypot Kitchen’s concept currently remains a bit of a mystery, as Owner Van Chu did not respond to What Now Phoenix for comment at the time of publication, we can share the new restaurant and bar is currently in the liquor licensing stage for a brick-and-mortar at 1616 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix. The application was received by the City Clerk Department of License Services on October 20th and is pending.

The application shows Mijan will have indoor and outdoor seating in the 3,800 square foot space, accommodating 36 patrons inside with a side patio for additional seating. The premises are currently under construction and renovations are expected to be completed by December 12th of this year.

1616 N. Central Avenue is the site of Muse Apartments, a luxury apartment complex in the Phoenix Arts District. Just across the street from Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix Theater Company, and the Arizona Opera, the substantial building is in the Willo neighborhood. Muse Apartments already boasts the on-site restaurants In Perfetto and Forno 301.

No word yet on when Mijan is expected to open, so you’ll want to check back in with What Now Phoenix for updates.
