Franchisees Sandra and Kevin Johnson will be spearheading the expansion, with eyes on Greater Phoenix communities, including Mesa, Tempe, Chandler and Gilbert. The couple has been involved in the Arizona culinary scene with franchises like Edo Japan and Wetzel’s Pretzels.

“The decision to invest in a franchise concept boils down to two things – the product and the business’s trajectory,” said Kevin in a press release. “With Port of Subs, it was crystal clear. This is a brand with a product I believe in and a legacy that continues to thrive. Not many brands can boast 50 years of high-level growth, so joining their development was a no-brainer for us. Get ready, Arizona, we’re bringing the sliced fresh experience to your doorstep!”

[Editor’s note: an edit to this article reduces the number of planned units down to 10 from the previoulsy announced 20.]
