The North Scottsdale area is seeing a lot of new development around Mayo road. One of those upcoming developments belongs to Michael Miller, who’s in the middle of planning S. Maranto’s Italian Market and Bar.
When What Now Phoenix spoke with Miller on Thursday, he said, “I think it’s beginning to be an area of North Scottsdale that’s going to be a foodie center. We are going to be North Scottsdale’s ‘Italian grocery,’ if you will.”
That “Italian grocery” is going to be a super modern concept that’s going to include a bar where guests can enjoy themselves as well as have some Italian-American favorites.
While fun for the North Scottsdale side, S. Maranto’s isn’t the only Italian grocery in town. Here, they’ll slice all the meats and cheeses, make their own pasta that they’ll sell, and have build-your-own craft sandwiches with fresh, homemade bread.
“It’s going to be great. There’s a lot of places out there that are trendy Italian food and very expensive,” Miller continued. “You have to look up the pasta you’re eating. This is going to be Italian-American classics that are staples.”
These staples will include comfort food found in classic pasta dishes, homemade meatballs, and three or four types of parmesan.
The fact that it’s based on favorites and comfort food, Miller says, is “a big differentiator. We’re going to have a nice place, but you’re not going to have to go to Google to figure out what you’re ordering.”
The market and bar is heading toward 7000 E Mayo Blvd Suite #1002 in November 2021.
Wow sounds delicious!! Can’t wait.
