Yesterday, Jan 2, the iconic California-based burger chain, In-N-Out, filed a proposal with the city of Mesa for a new restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a drive-thru, to be located inside Gallery Park at 4901 S Power Rd, according to public records.
A representative of In-N-Out could not be immediately reached for comment.
Founded in 1948 in Baldwin Park, CA by Harry Snyder, In-N-Out enjoys a cult-like following of fans who sing the praises of its fresh and decidedly simple menu that includes a burger, cheeseburger, fries, soda, milkshakes, and a few “not-so-secret” items if you know how to ask.
In fact, of that menu – which features items such as a grilled cheese, protein style burger, or 4×4 – the company writes on its official website, “Ok, you’ve heard the rumors, wondered what was on it, maybe even felt a little left out of the loop. But in reality, we don’t have any secrets at all. It’s just the way some of our customers like their burgers prepared, and we’re all about making our customers happy. So here are some of the most popular items on our not-so-secret menu.”
Nevertheless, although the first In-N-Out to open outside of California dates back some 30 years in Las Vegas – while its first Arizona location can be traced back to Lake Havasu City in 2000 – the brand often plays it safe with its expansion plans, making news of an In-N-Out something to celebrate.
